Why take a motorbike trip?

I hate flying. Not because I am afraid of flying, but because of the cattle-market it is. The pushing and shoving, the waiting in over-priced containment bays, the security (checking parents for explosive shoes) and the fact that there is no cultural component with flying. It’s like travelling with McDonalds. There is also the shit-load of exhaust gases dumped at high altitude to consider.

I’ve begun to enjoy travelling more by ground. I’ve driven to South of France, and taken a motorbike out to Germany, and you know, you see more. Sure it takes longer, but around Europe not as much as you think. Flying is over-hyped for speed, and it is much quicker - while actually flying. However when you factor in the parking and/or getting to the airport, the check-in time etc…it adds hours to the journey.

So why would I want to ride a ‘dangerous’ motorbike across Europe? Well riding a motorbike on a long journey is hard to explain, so here is a video:
